Laconia, NH — New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall, and Laconia Police Chief Matthew Canfield have released updated information regarding the ongoing homicide investigation on Old Prescott Hill Road in Laconia. The case, which has shaken the local community, centers around the tragic death of 58-year-old Linda Dionne and the subsequent arrest of her son, 32-year-old Christopher Garon.
At approximately 1:38 p.m. on April 14, 2026, officers with the Laconia Police Department were dispatched to 52 Old Prescott Hill Road following a report that prompted immediate concern. Upon arrival, officers entered the residence and discovered Linda Dionne deceased inside the home. Authorities have not yet publicly disclosed the specific circumstances that led to the call, but confirmed that the situation was quickly deemed a homicide investigation.
While processing the scene, officers encountered Christopher Garon, Ms. Dionne’s son, at the residence. Following a preliminary investigation and assessment of the evidence, Garon was taken into custody without incident.
Officials have confirmed that Christopher Garon has been formally charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder under New Hampshire law, RSA 630:1-b, I(b).
