Spring Carpenter Death Investigation: Josue Chirino Charged After Juan Antonio Salinas Leija Found Fatally Beaten on Goldensong Court

SPRING, Texas — New court documents are shedding light on a disturbing homicide investigation involving Josue Chirino and Juan Antonio Salinas Leija, as authorities confirm Chirino has been charged in connection with the death of Salinas Leija, who was discovered inside a home on Goldensong Court under violent and suspicious circumstances.

Officials report that the fatal incident is believed to have occurred around April 10, 2026, at a residence located on Goldensong Court in the Northgate Crossing neighborhood. Investigators say Salinas Leija, who worked as a contracted carpenter, was on-site performing construction work when the deadly attack allegedly took place.

According to authorities, concern began to grow after Salinas Leija failed to return home and had not been heard from since the afternoon of Friday, prompting his family to search for him. After learning that the Goldensong Court property was the last known location where he had been working, relatives went to the residence Sunday morning to check on him. It was there they tragically discovered his body inside the home.

Law enforcement was immediately notified, and deputies responded to the scene at approximately 11:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from the victim’s sister. The residence was quickly secured as investigators began processing the location and collecting evidence related to the death.

Court records indicate that investigators believe a sledgehammer was used during the fatal assault, a key detail that led to the formal murder charge now filed against Chirino. Authorities have not yet disclosed a possible motive or clarified the nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victim beyond their connection to the worksite.

As detectives continue to build their case, officials have not released further details regarding what may have led to the violent confrontation.

The investigation remains active, with law enforcement urging anyone who may have information related to the case to come forward and assist investigators.

The community is now left grieving the loss of Juan Antonio Salinas Leija, described as a dedicated and hardworking carpenter whose life was abruptly and violently cut short while simply carrying out his job.

Authorities continue to pursue answers as the case moves through the legal process.
