A tragic motorcycle crash in Shelby County, Alabama has claimed the life of 32-year-old Melvin Fabicio Acevedo Alvarado of Conroe, Texas, leaving family, friends, and the community grieving an unexpected and devastating loss.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 6:57 p.m. on Monday along Shelby County Road 10 near the intersection with Shelby County Road 22, about three miles north of Montevallo. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash involved a motorcycle and an SUV in a violent head-on impact that ended in tragedy.
Authorities say Melvin Alvarado was riding a Kawasaki Ninja 400 ABS motorcycle when it collided head-on with a Nissan Pathfinder. The SUV was driven by 45-year-old Arriaga Alejandro Gonzalez of Montevallo.
The force of the collision caused Alvarado to be thrown from the motorcycle. Despite emergency response efforts, he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. His sudden passing has left loved ones in deep sorrow as they remember a life cut short far too soon.
The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder, Arriaga Alejandro Gonzalez, sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to Baptist Health Shelby Hospital in Alabaster for medical treatment.
Senior Trooper Gregory Corble confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing as officials continue to examine the circumstances leading up to the collision. Authorities are working to determine exactly how the crash occurred and whether any contributing factors were involved.
