A tragic two-vehicle crash in the Slemp community of Perry County, Kentucky has claimed the life of 82-year-old Bobbie Boggs of Big Laurel, leaving family, friends, and the local community mourning a sudden and heartbreaking loss.
The fatal collision occurred on Monday afternoon, April 13, along Old Beech Fork Road. According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers from Post 13 in Hazard were requested by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office around 4:30 p.m. to assist with the investigation and crash reconstruction of the serious incident involving two vehicles.
Preliminary findings indicate that a black Ford F-250 was traveling along Old Beech Fork Road when it failed to properly navigate a steep curve. The vehicle reportedly crossed the center line and collided head-on with a white Ford Explorer driven by Bobbie Boggs.
The impact of the crash was severe. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but despite their efforts, Bobbie Boggs was pronounced deceased at the location by the Perry County Coroner’s Office. Her passing has left a deep sense of grief within her family and the surrounding community, where she was known and loved.
The driver of the Ford F-250, along with two passengers in the vehicle, sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening. All three were transported to Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center for medical treatment and evaluation.
