In Loving Memory of Lucas Edwin and Defeitus Francois

CASTRIES, St. Lucia — Lucas Edwin, 48, of Belair/Sarrot, and Defeitus Francois of Marchand are being remembered with heavy hearts after both men tragically lost their lives in separate acts of gun violence within a span of just six hours.

The violence began on the evening of Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the community of Marchand. Defeitus Francois was shot and critically injured. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 10:36 p.m., leaving loved ones devastated by his sudden passing.

Just hours later, in the early morning of Sunday, April 12, tragedy struck again. Lucas Edwin was fatally shot in Millet during what authorities described as the “wee hours” of the morning. He was later pronounced dead by a medical doctor at approximately 5:43 a.m.

The loss of both men has sent shockwaves through their respective communities and across the island. Families, friends, and neighbors are now left grieving, trying to come to terms with the pain of losing loved ones in such a senseless and violent manner.

Lucas Edwin and Defeitus Francois are remembered not for the way their lives ended, but for the lives they lived — lives filled with connections, memories, and meaning to those who knew them.
