SUMMIT TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The community is mourning the tragic loss of 59-year-old Glen Dalton of Prospect, who lost his life in a devastating motorcycle crash Sunday night, leaving behind grieving loved ones and a lasting impact on all who knew him.
According to state police, the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the busy intersection of Route 68, Route 38, and Route 422 in Summit Township. Authorities say Dalton was traveling down Lick Hill on Route 68 on his motorcycle when he attempted to turn onto the westbound ramp for Route 422.
At the same time, a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Caitlyn Zuccher was traveling through the intersection when it collided with Dalton’s motorcycle. The impact of the crash was severe, resulting in a chaotic and heartbreaking scene that required an extended emergency response.
Tragically, Glen Dalton was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of first responders. His sudden passing has left a deep void in the hearts of family, friends, and the Prospect community.
Also involved in the crash was Dalton’s passenger, 58-year-old Joann Dalton of Prospect, who sustained serious injuries. Due to the severity of her condition, she was airlifted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where she continues to receive treatment.
Authorities confirmed that Caitlyn Zuccher was not injured in the crash.
Emergency crews remained on the scene for nearly four hours as they worked to assist the injured, secure the area, and investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Officials are continuing to examine the details to determine exactly what led to the crash.
