Authorities say the collision involved a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2013 Nissan Rogue in what has since become a tragic reminder of how quickly lives can change on the roadway.

Preliminary findings indicate that a 78-year-old driver, Shirley Rill of Salem, was operating the Jeep Grand Cherokee when the vehicle crossed left of center for reasons still under investigation. The Jeep then struck a Nissan Rogue driven by Chelsea Miller, 35, of Lisbon.
