A tragic late-night crash has left a family and community grieving the sudden loss of Ashley M. Kornegay, a 36-year-old woman from Tuscaloosa, whose life was cut short in a devastating accident on Saturday, April 19, 2026.
According to authorities, the crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. along Alabama Highway 216 near the 3 mile marker, approximately five miles east of Tuscaloosa. Officials say Ashley was a passenger in a 2007 GMC Yukon when the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree.
