With profound sadness, we honor the life and memory of Isaak G. Torres, 18, of Joliet, whose life was tragically cut short following a devastating crash on Thursday night. A young man with his whole future ahead of him, Isaak’s passing has left an unimaginable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire community.
According to the Will County Coroner’s Office, the two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. along Route 59 near Hammel Woods in Shorewood. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene and transported both drivers—each alone in their vehicles—to Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Despite every effort made by medical personnel, Isaak was pronounced deceased at 11:04 p.m. His loss marks a heartbreaking moment for all who knew him. The other driver, a 23-year-old Joliet man, sustained minor injuries and was later treated and released.
The Shorewood Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. While an autopsy has been completed, officials are awaiting final results, including toxicology reports, to determine the official cause and manner of death.
