Modesto Police Investigating Homicide of Juan Carreon Near Neece Boat Ramp

The city of Modesto is reeling following a deadly act of violence that claimed the life of 37-year-old Juan Carreon on the afternoon of April 9, 2026. Authorities have confirmed the case is being investigated as a homicide, with the suspect still outstanding.

According to the Modesto Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly before 4:00 p.m. to the 700 block of Neece Drive, near the Neece Boat Ramp, after receiving reports of a person down. When officers arrived, they located Juan Carreon suffering from multiple injuries. Despite emergency response efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives have since launched an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, officials have not released details regarding a possible suspect or motive, and no arrests have been made. The fact that the suspect remains at large has raised concern within the community as investigators work to gather evidence and determine exactly what led to the fatal encounter.
