Two Pocatello Residents Identified in Deadly Power County Shooting as Multi-Agency Investigation Continues

A tragic shooting on Tank Farm Road in Power County on April 3, 2026, has claimed the lives of Brandon Lee Madden, 40, of Pocatello, and Amanda Ann Christian, 36, of Pocatello, with Bannock County Coroner Torey Danner confirming their identities as authorities—including the Bannock County Coroner’s Office, Power County Coroner’s Office, Power County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho State Police, and the Idaho Falls Police Department—continue an extensive and ongoing investigation into the incident.

According to officials, the Bannock County Coroner’s Office, working in coordination with the Power County Coroner’s Office and the Power County Sheriff’s Office, officially released the names of the two individuals who were killed in the initial shooting. Both victims’ next of kin have been notified.

The fatal incident has deeply impacted the local communities, particularly in Pocatello, where both victims resided. While details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting have not yet been fully disclosed, authorities have confirmed that the case remains an active homicide investigation.

In a statement addressing the tragedy, Bannock County Coroner Torey Danner expressed condolences to those affected, saying his heart goes out to the families involved as well as the broader Power County community grappling with the loss.

Officials also noted that an additional fatality occurred in connection to an officer-involved shooting tied to the same incident. The identity of that individual has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
